In the Summer of 2018, MIC|C participates in an international conference titled Resignifications: the Black Mediterranean.

Organized by the University of Palermo and NYU, the conferences hosts an interdisciplinary discussion on the state of post-coloniality, racism and citizenship on the Afro-European boundary. Through its video fragment and intervention, MIC|C aims to highlight the tension between the acute social abandonment of African migrants and their liminal political status as non-citizens who remain trapped in Europe’s fractured border zone.
